The Teacher Contributes to Building a High Expectations School Culture

When a teacher schedules parent classroom visits, they contribute to building a high-expectations school culture.

The teacher:

  • creates, promotes and participates in a school environment with a strong school vision, values and expected behaviours
  • has high expectations for students regarding their engagement and learning
  • models positive high expectations for the school team, peers, parents and students
  • builds a culture of collaboration around continuous improvement
  • collaborates with parents and the community on shared school improvement goals
  • demonstrates their support to maximising educational outcomes for students
  • invites parents, teachers and leaders to have conversations around ways to increase opportunities for improvement
  • leads an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm.
