Student Feels Unmotivated and His Work Undervalued

Student Feels Unmotivated and His Work Undervalued
Teacher, Monica, has pulled down the examples of student work on the walls to make room for more recent ones and sends them home with the students in their daily take home folder. She hangs some new student works to show the latest student outcomes with The Speed of Light progress test in physics. However, the local symphony is performing for the school, and she gets called out of the classroom before she can hang the rest of the examples of work.
Since the parents were coming into the classroom the next day, Monica never finished hanging up the rest of the papers. Papers of students who earned their recognition sat in a pile on her desk.
Cheryl is visiting and observing her son, Cruz, learn. He has been talking about how he has gotten better grades in science and to look for his work on the wall. Cheryl is walking around the room and sees student the progress test on the wall but does not see her son’s work. She assumes he did poorly.
Student, Cruz, has been working extra hard in class to earn a spot on the wall. Because of the interruption, the teacher did not hang his test up and his mom did not get to see it. He feels unmotivated to continue to work hard because his accomplishments are not recognised.
