The Teacher does not Contribute to Building a High-Expectations School Culture

When the teacher does not schedule parent classroom visits, they do not contribute to building a high-expectations school culture.

The Problem is Compounded

The teacher:

  • does not create, promote or participate in a school environment with a strong school vision, values and expected behaviours
  • does not have high expectations for students regarding their engagement and learning
  • does not model positive high expectations for the school team, peers, parents and students
  • does not demonstrate their support or maximise educational outcomes for students
  • does not lead an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm
  • does not invite parents, teachers and leaders to have conversations around ways to increase opportunities for improvement.
