The School Team Creates a Buoyant Positive School Culture

The Epwik school has been developing a high expectations culture in their school. Creating this positive atmosphere takes time and dedication from all parties involved. The school leadership team have been working with parents in learning about the values and the shared behaviour expectations (for students, parents and the school team).

Behaviour expectations and values have been posted around the school. They have been reinforced daily in classes, presented at the School Improvement Forum and shared on social media. Through the continuous positive reinforcement of the expectations and celebration of achievements, there has been a shift in student behaviour.

Students seem happier coming to school, are working harder to achieve learning goals and are participating in more school events. In walking around the school, there is a positive, respectful feel. Additionally, recent test results are showing an improvement in literacy and maths this semester.

To continue celebrating these achievements, Principal, Dan, has planned to announce the latest improved results to parents at the school parade. They will have student work displayed and students will present their personal projects.

The school team has created a buoyant positive culture of learning which is motivating students in their learning.
