Set Up for Whole Group Instruction in Any Lesson
For group instruction, students are seated in rows and columns of chairs and desks or tables facing forward to see the whiteboard. Alternative arrangements might work in some situations, keeping in mind that all students need to be able to see the board when instruction is underway and not see each other’s work. An area is left clear for activities taking place on the floor if needed.

Students can easily get into pair-share partners. Pair-share partners contain a low performing student with a medium or high performing student depending on the students in the group. Two low performing students should not be paired together.
The teacher walks among students to monitor and provide feedback while teaching.
