The Teacher Responds to Individual Student Needs

Explain the impact

When a teacher responds to individual student needs, they consider which students need seating closer to them or the whiteboard when they deliver instruction. By responding to individual needs students feel safe and respected by the teacher.

Explain how it works

The teacher:

  • adapts to students with disabilities making sure students can see and hear all parts of the lesson
  • responds to social norms around students’ personal space that family members may have requested.
