What Happens When the Technique is Delivered with Fidelity?

The Technique
Effective teaching requires teachers to set up their classrooms for teaching throughout the day. An orderly physical space increases predictability and perceived safety for students and teaching team.

What It Achieves
Teachers can always see and hear all students in all parts of the classroom. They can move around the classroom with ease to engage students in learning and to redirect or reinforce student behaviour.

More Detail
The classroom set-up supports the activities of the school day. The teacher uses materials and furniture to minimise crowding and distractions and to engage students more effectively.

Having clear routes for student and teacher movement enables quick and safe access to resources in the classroom with more time to focus on learning.
