The Teacher does not Promote Expected Behaviours

The Teacher does not Promote Expected Behaviours
Teacher, Louise, is finding it hard to move about her classroom to listen closely to her students while she is teaching or when they are doing independent work. She finds herself moving things aside or around to get near students who are not following directions or paying attention, instead Louise calls their name to get them to comply. Louise frequently misses student errors; her students are not mastering the material as she expects. She finds herself giving a lot of corrective feedback instead of positive praise.

Louise has not assigned seats for her groups, when the group moves to independent work, she asks students to move seats. This way the students who usually need support are in a group in the back of the room so she can work with them. During lessons Louise’s lower performing students are all around the room and often paired with each other. She is not sure if there is a better way do work with these students as they are not meeting mastery daily.
