Teacher Expectations

Elisa, a teacher, is sharing student data with Craig, a parent. She draws Craig to focus on the data wall which displays lessons that have been passed with the direct instruction program Connecting Math Concepts. She points to his daughter, Mary’s progress. Elisa explains that to go on to the next lesson they must pass the checkout at the end.

Students must participate lesson and the high expectations have been set before each small group session starts. After reviewing the data and the progress of Craig’s child, both teacher and parent feel confident that Mary is being set up for success in maths.
