Students are not Focused on Their Learning

Impact 

When the teacher does not effectively use routines and expectations, students are focused on what they need to do and how it is to be done, rather than their learning.  

The Problem is Compounded 

Students feel uncertain and do not have the security that comes with knowing what to expect and what is expected of them. Students may not feel safe to contribute and be fully engaged if they are worried about how interactions are managed to ensure that they are respectful and positive
