Consequences
When teachers do not use individual turns effectively, they are unable to continuously check for individual student mastery within the lesson.
The Problem is Compounded
Students are unable to review lesson concepts individually. Students miss out on timely independent practice. Students are moved on before mastery of the skill is verified. Students who have not mastered the skills will not be able to complete independent work successfully.
