Students Are Confident, Engaged Learners and Have Appropriate Behaviour

Teacher, Matt, has set up the Flight Path on a bulletin board with daily and weekly progress towards three goals that he has set up: two are academic and one is for behaviour. As Matt teaches, he points out to students how far they’ve come and how close they are to achieving their prize – an end-of-week video viewing. As he teaches, Matt notes how quickly he moves through lessons to ensure that he is keeping students on pace to master their goals. He gives whole-group feedback and individual specific, positive praise to help students maintain momentum as they work. Matt notices that students are excited to reach each milestone on the data wall and start asking for more challenges.
