Students Are Engaged and Participating
When positive motivation strategies are used effectively, students know exactly what to do and how to make progress. They can see the progress they have made on target goals and on the classroom data wall. This reinforces the importance of each lesson, so students are engaged and participating both to achieve the goal and because they see the value of participating for their learning.

How It Works
- Teachers use an energetic pace and choral responses to increase participation.
- Students are on-task and display appropriate behaviours.
- Lower-performing students build confidence as they perform well in front of their peers.
- Students have ongoing opportunities to participate, pronounce, read, track or gesture as a group, which improves memory and the ability to recall information from long-term memory, as gestures serve as triggers or anchors.
