The Teacher Contributes to a High-Expectations School Culture
After teacher Ellen’s success with her students’ behaviour progress, she works with them to set goals for their next reading and maths lessons, and another celebration to work towards. As her students work towards their goals, Ellen hears about a teacher who is implementing the Flight Path, a positive motivation strategy she has not used yet. Ellen observes the teacher and decides to use the Flight Path to help students improve their behaviour during independent work time. She teaches the Flight Path procedures and starts to implement it. Another teacher hears about Ellen’s work and approaches her to ask questions. Ellen explains how she learned about Flight Path and how she is using it now. Ellen feels confident that her work with students will be acknowledged and celebrated outside of her classroom.
