Impacts on Teachers and Other School Professionals: Scenario

Impacts on Teachers and Other School Professionals: Scenario
Step 1: Teacher, Sarah, faces challenges in supporting students with diverse learning needs. With a large class size and limited resources, Sarah struggles to adequately address individual student needs, leading to concerns about student progress and engagement. Despite her efforts, Sarah finds it challenging to craft effective Individualised Plans using the Matrices due to time constraints and lack of training.
Step 2: Sarah attempts to draft Individualised Plans for her students, relying on her best judgment and limited understanding of the Matrices. However, without mastery or fidelity in the process, Sarah’s plans often lack clear goals, appropriate adjustments, and targeted instructional strategies. As a result, students’ needs go unnoticed, leading to further academic setbacks and disengagement from learning.
Step 3: Over time, Sarah observes the detrimental impacts of her ineffective support strategies. Students who require additional assistance slip further behind academically, experiencing entrenched learning failure. Ad hoc support leads to inconsistencies in the classroom, resulting in low student progress and frustration among both students and teachers.
Step 4: Despite recognising the need for improvement, Sarah struggles to review and update support plans regularly, as recommended by the process. Consequently, students remain on outdated plans for extended periods, hindering their ability to achieve desired outcomes.
