Impacts on Teaching: Scenario

Impacts on Teaching: Scenario
Step 1: Teacher, Mitchell, grapples with the diverse needs of his students in the English class. Despite his best efforts, Mitchell notices a concerning trend in student engagement and academic performance. Many students seem disinterested and struggle to participate actively in class discussions and activities.
Step 2: Mitchell attempts to address the issue by delivering instruction to the entire class at the same level, assuming that it will cater to all students’ needs. However, without mastery or fidelity in the process, Mitchell fails to differentiate instruction according to individual learning abilities and preferences.
Step 3: As a result, some students find the instructional programs unsuitable, leading to feelings of frustration and boredom. They struggle to connect with the material, feeling excluded and gradually disengaging from the learning process.
Step 4: Over time, Mitchell observes that students are not achieving mastery in the subject matter, resulting in significant learning gaps and low academic growth. Despite his efforts to support their learning, the lack of mastery and fidelity in his teaching approach exacerbates the challenges faced by his students.
