The Processes are Not Delivered with Mastery/Fidelity
The Processes:
- Drafting Individualised Plan
- Use the Learning Goals Matrix
- Use the Adjustments Matrix
- Use the Instructional Strategies Matrix
A lack of mastery and fidelity in the process of crafting an Individualised Plan using the Matrices can result in several challenges. Inadequate goal-setting from the Learning Goals Matrix might lead to overly ambitious or insufficiently tailored objectives, impeding the student’s progress and causing frustration. Misaligned adjustments chosen from the Adjustments Matrix could mean the student doesn’t receive the necessary accommodations, hindering their ability to access the curriculum effectively. Similarly, if instructional strategies from the Instructional Strategies Matrix are not appropriately selected, the student may struggle to grasp essential concepts, impacting their learning outcomes. Misguided modifications from the Modifications Matrix might lower expectations or overlook opportunities for the student to engage with grade-level content. Moreover, inconsistencies in planning due to a lack of mastery could lead to confusion and hinder the effectiveness of the Individualised Plan over time. Ultimately, without mastery and fidelity in using the Matrices, there is a risk of limiting the student’s progress and hindering their overall academic and functional development.
