Not Producing Accurate and Timely Data
Teacher Hazel does not produce accurate and timely data
When teacher Hazel meets with her instruction coach, she explains that she believes two of her students are misplaced in her maths group. The instruction coach asks why Hazel thinks the students are misplaced and Hazel responds that one student is absent a lot and the other student is misbehaving in class, so the work is too hard for them.

They open Hazel’s data and review the group’s attendance, independent work scores from the last three week along with their last three mastery test scores. Hazel has not logged data. Student placement cannot be determined based on only absences or behaviour. There is no accurate student performance data for the instruction coach to know how to support Hazel or the students to make instructional gains.
