Word skills (Opposites Exercises)

‘Opposites’ exercises begin with a review of opposites taught in ‘RMSE-LA K’. Opposites are first presented in an introductory lesson that describes the opposite pair.

Then, students practice using opposites. Lastly, opposite pairs are reviewed.
Correct errors using ‘model, lead, test, re-test’.

The Process

• The Teacher tells students the answer (model).
• The Teacher repeats the answers with the students (lead).
• The Teacher repeats the task and students respond alone (test).
•  The Teacher repeats the exercise up to and beyond the error (retest).

Turn to page 24 in ‘RMSE-LA 1’ Teacher’s Guide. Practice lesson 1, exercise 2 with your partner once with no student-errors and once with student-errors.
