Word skills (Synonyms and Contractions Exercises)

Teach the ‘Synonyms and Contractions Word Skills’ exercises using the same techniques practised in previous ‘word skills tracks’.

Correct using the ‘general error-correction’ process.

Synonyms:

‘Synonyms’ are taught in lessons lessons 77 – 116.
Students learn that synonyms are words that mean the same thing.

Contractions:

Students practice ‘subject-verb agreement’.
Students practice the contractions; ‘isn’t, wasn’t, aren’t, weren’t, doesn’t, didn’t and don’t’.
