Pause and Punch
Perform the script with careful consideration given for ‘key words’ and ‘phrases’.
In some programs important words are in bold, cuing the Teacher to emphasise these words. In other programs, analyse the lesson before teaching to determine key words to emphasise during teaching.
Emphasise key words or phrases by using ‘pause and punch’.
‘Pause and punch’ is a technique of pausing briefly before an important word or phrase and then verbally emphasising that word or phrase during delivery. ‘Pause and punch’ helps students focus on important words and concepts by drawing greater attention to them in the classroom, leading to greater mastery.
