Transitions

Transitions occur when students switch from one academic activity to another. A transition is a brain break, helping students regroup.

Transitions also occur as students move through the parts of a lesson, for example, moving from word-attack exercises to story reading to workbook activities.

Learning to move students smoothly between activities maintains pacing and preserves instructional time.
