Builds a High Expectations Culture in School

Principal David has scheduled several classroom observations to measure student engagement and effective teaching development within the teaching team. The business manager, Karen, requests a meeting to resolve an issue related to school uniforms. While David recognises that this is an important issue, he arranges an alternate time to meet with Karen as he is committed to continuous improvement and supporting the professional learning of his teaching team.

David’s teaching team are comfortable reflecting on their practice with him as they know that this is a characteristic of a high expectations culture. From the principal to the teaching team, all school members are setting an example for students to follow. By prioritising his management of the SIP action plan, David demonstrates his commitment to school improvement, consequently building a high expectations culture in his school.
