Community Becomes Disengaged

Principal Misha has designed the SIP without a community forum to discuss her goals and action plan. Her teaching team have been recording a lot of level one behaviours from students during class time and attendance has gone down.

Misha has instructed her teaching team to implement several strategies over the semester, but the issues have not changed.

Misha set a date for a community forum to discuss these student concerns with the parents and wider community, but very few people were present, and she did not ask for their input, she just questioned the behaviour problems. Her teaching team are also struggling to get parents to respond to their emails, phone calls, newsletters or visit their classrooms.

Misha has lost the partnership between the community and the school; she will not see any school improvement until this relationship is rebuilt and strengthened.
