Educational Outcomes for Students

do Not Improve

When principals do not set, manage and review the SIP, they are not analysing, clarifying anomalies or evaluating student data on school improvement areas. They are not tracking the data to evaluate the efficacy of the improvement actions by the teaching team or evaluating data to verify these improvements. As a result, educational outcomes for students do not improve.

What happens

The problem is compounded When nothing changes, nothing changes. Student data either stays the same or declines as issues related to classroom organisation, behaviour management or effective teaching are compounded. When teachers or teaching assistants are not provided with targeted support and coaching, they cannot implement effective improvement actions. Students cannot achieve mastery or potentially catch up.
