Normalises a culture of mediocrity

Normalises a Culture of Mediocrity
Principal Richard has cancelled a schedaled weekly data review meeting with Kellie, the instruction coach. Richard instead has organised a parent conference to discuss a student’s behaviour for that time. He frequently reschedules or cancels observations, teaching staff feedback and data review meetings due to being allocated other unrelated tasks or issues to resolve.

When the principal cancels observations, professional conversations or data reviews, they make a statement that the task was not a high priority.
Kellie feels like it is not that important, so just continues with coaching the teaching team without school wide data analysis and as a result professional learning and mastery is not seen as a priority for the teaching team either.
