Expressive Writing 1-2 Skill Development

Expressive Writing 1–2 focuses on essential writing concepts and skills across four instructional strands: Sentence Writing, Paragraph Writing, Story Writing, and Editing.

Each program level covers a set of specific skills. The skills are reinforced across different lessons as students advance in the program.

Expressive Writing 1 focuses on these foundational skills:

• Constructing proper sentences with correct punctuation and capitalisation.
• Writing focused paragraphs that do not deviate from a topic.
• Editing others’ work and the writer’s own words.
