Script Features

The Presentation Books use several typefaces and other script conventions. The script says what you say, what you do, and what the students’ expected responses are to be.

• What the teacher says is in blue type.
• Words to emphasise appear in bold blue type.
• Instructions for the teacher to follow appear in black type and are enclosed in round brackets.
• Students responses appear in black italic type.

Questions that require a group response begin with the word ‘everybody’ and are followed by a signal and the exact group response.

Questions for individual students do not include the word ‘everybody’ and do not require a signal. Possible responses for these questions are enclosed in round brackets.

For questions with exact answers, the student’s response is preceded by the word response. For questions with variable answers, the student’s response is enclosed in round brackets and preceded by the word ‘idea’.
