Team Members are Unable to Use Data to Make Informed Decisions: Scenario

Principal April does not collect or track school data because she does not think it is important. When she meets with Instruction Coach Marc, they are not able to identify the patterns of success or any challenges that their teachers are having or how this is impacting student learning. When April and Marc meet with their peer school, they share general information about the school. They are not able to share specific successes and challenges that are grounded in data. As a result, they are not able to bring ideas back to the teachers at their school and the conversation with their peer school feels like a waste of time.
